Reason #36/100 why we all should vote for Hillary:

64 days til the election, reason #36/100 why we all should vote for Hillary:

She will defend anti-hunger programs. We may laugh today about a "taco truck on every corner," but millions of children and adults in our country still experience food insecurity.  Clinton understands that when people don't know where their next meal is coming from, they cannot be full participants in their communities or in the economy. To combat this problem in the U.S., she said in a speech in Iowa last year that as President she would

double funding for the Farmers Market Promotion Program and the Local Food Promotion Programs to expand food hubs, farmers markets, give Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients' access to fresh food, and encourage direct sales to local schools, hospitals, retailers and wholesalers. Clinton's focus on this issue stems from the “Farm-to- Fork” initiative she promoted in New York as a U.S. senator.

This is echoed in the Ending Poverty plank of the Democratic party platform that states:

This is why Democrats will protect proven programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)—our nation's most important anti-hunger program—that help struggling families put food on the table.

Whether it’s children or elders or working adults struggling to feed their families, Clinton will not leave our most vulnerable citizens behind.
