Word Salad: Because What Now?

For some reason my favorite Republican was in the Democratic debate last weekend. I don’t get it. A warhawk, neoliberal who is in the pocket of Wall Street is the candidate corporate media has chosen to run against a warhawk, neoliberal who is in the pocket of Wall Street.

We have no choice!

At the debate Hilary Clinton was asked a question about how corrupted she is because not only is she completely corrupted by Wall Street, it was her husband, with Dick Morris who found the loophole to create superPACs. Yes, it was the Republicans who took it to new heights. (Sadly, I can’t find any articles about this, but the great Jim Hightower book “If the Gods Had Meant Us to Vote They Would Have Given Us Candidates” covers this topic. It’s way out of date, but the ideas in the book and history that is ignored today make it worth a read. It was written to be read during the 2000 election. Sadly, not much has changed in 15 years, just the names. If you know any articles about this, I would love to read them.)

The question is fair. It’s like asking Martin O’Malley how his broken window policing and ignoring Baltimore’s public schools contributed to the death of Freddie Gray. (However, his leadership in bring gay marriage to Maryland and ending the Death Penalty as Governor of Maryland should be applauded.) But I digress….

Hilary Clinton was asked about how money corrupted her and she actually answered “Because 9/11.” Once again she reminds me of why she is my favorite Republican. “Because 9/11” should never be invoked to hide behind the truth. Like all Republicans, Hilary Clinton is a fascist. Maybe she’s more Ronald Reagan than Adolf Hitler or Pinochet, but she is still a fascist. Like a fascist, she hides behind nationalist rhetoric to cover up her merger of corporations and the state.

If you want to defend Hilary, that’s your business, leave me out of it. Leave your propaganda elsewhere.

I want to vote for a candidate who isn’t beholden to an oligarchy, not another member of the inverted totalitarian state which we live in.

If you don’t mind, I’m going back to watching the rest of Jessica Jones season 1.

But before I do, quick reminders; I have 3 pieces showing in the Salon style show in Easthampton’s Small Works show. Support the arts. APB is out at fine book stores or online. (That link helps me out.) April will be the APB show and I am hoping to have some cool announcements about some upcoming projects soon.

As always, if you like this, support it. As a thank you, you get bonus Word Salads. This week, Ted Cruz talks about his father.
