You can’t make this up. Today, HRC decided it was a wonderful idea to, without polling their members, endorse the candidate who didn't support gay marriage until 2013, supported Don't Ask Don't Tell, and supported the Defense of Marriage Act.
Hilarious irony aside, this is another example of why organizations should not be making endorsements without the decisions of their members involved. Corporate politics is bullshit, and this further highlights the hilarity of it.
On the other hand, Senator Bernie Sanders has supported LGBT rights for his entire life, the earliest documented example being in 1983 as Mayor of Burlington when he supported a Gay Right's March.
For the record, HRC never let Bernie Sanders speak to them to help make his case.
